Accidentally Culled the Wrong Cow in Horizon? Here’s How to Fix It.
In the middle of a hectic day—treating, breeding, moving, or culling cows—it’s easy to mistype a cow number and end up entering data on the wrong animal. We occasionally get calls from farms where a cow was mistakenly culled in the system. If you’re using Dairy Comp, it's important to know that deleting the event in DC won’t automatically remove it from Horizon—the cow will still be listed as culled. So, how do you bring her back to life in Horizon? Don’t worry—it’s an easy fix. Watch the short 1-minute video below or read on for the step-by-step guide.
Go to the report section
Under the Reproduction sub-section, find report 17
The pop-up window will say Show present on farm – Yes, No, All. Select All.

Use the small “golf tee” icon at the top right to quickly search the cow you’re looking for

Click on the cow number to open her cow card

This will bring you to the Events Tab where you should see the Transfer Out event

Click on the Transfer Out event to open the pop-up window
Click Delete
Click the X to close the pop-up window
Click the left arrow to go back to report 17
It should now show the cow in the right milking group.
If there was an error and the transfer out coming from DC was set to a date in the future, the transfer out event might not show on the cow card Events tab. At this point, you would have to click the + to view the left side menu. Then click on Transfer. Then click the drop-down New box to view all transfer event. Select the last one, and delete it.
