New Shop Ground Breaking

On a cold & soggy Monday morning, the crew from West Coast Robotics gathered at a flattened dirt lot just outside of Agassiz. Staying (somewhat) dry underneath a couple of pop-up shelters, salesmen, technicians, and office staff enjoyed some coffee while the Supreme Dictator Brian Rodenburg gathered his thoughts for a long awaited moment: the official (ceremonial) ground-breaking of the new shop property.

Armed with a super-duper special ground-breaking shovel, both Brian and Erik 'Less-Dictator-But-No-Less-Supreme' Van Dyk marched out into the rain and turned to face the crowd. Behind them was the site of the 18,000 square foot shop slated to be completed by the spring of 2020, and in front of them, the elite team of robot-fixers and spreadsheet-masters watching on. After a short speech, the chrome-faced ceremonial shovel met with soggy gravel with a dull thud, and the final chapter of a nearly 9-year journey to build a new facility in Agassiz was realized.

Snarky narrative aside, it's hard to overstate the importance of seeing dirt move (like, with real machinery) on the new shop property. Having the space and facilities to properly house this rapidly-expanding company will mean we can maintain the level of service that made us successful, and prepare us for more growth in such a fast-paced industry. We want to thank all of our customers that have helped us in our success and we look forward to sharing a coffee with you under the roof of our new shop soon!

A special thanks to Kim Duncan at Cabin Fever Junction in Agassiz for providing snacks, and Anna with J. Wheeler Photography for taking photos.
