Before You Call: Try Restarting the Horizon PC
When Horizon isn’t working properly, it can feel urgent, especially when you’re trying to get into the system and the app won’t let you log in.
Before calling the service line, there’s one quick step worth trying:
Restart the Horizon PC.
It sounds simple, but a full computer restart resolves a large number of the Horizon calls our milking team receives. In many cases, the issue isn’t with the robot or Horizon itself, the computer simply needs a fresh start.
When should you try a restart?
If you’re experiencing things like:
Horizon won’t let you log in
The Horizon app isn’t opening properly
Something in Horizon has stopped responding
The system suddenly isn’t behaving normally
Start by restarting the computer and allowing it to fully boot back up before trying Horizon again.
Why restart the computer?
Like any computer that runs continuously, the Horizon PC can occasionally run into temporary software or connection issues. Restarting clears those temporary problems and gives the programs and services running in the background a chance to start fresh.
For many farms, that’s all it takes to get Horizon working again.
Especially outside regular working hours
If you run into a Horizon issue early in the morning, late at night or outside regular working hours, trying a restart first can often get you back up and running without having to wait for troubleshooting over the phone.
If Horizon still isn’t working after the restart, then give the service line a call. Our milking team is there when you need help, we just want to make sure the quickest fix gets tried first.
Horizon issue? Restart first. If that doesn’t solve it, call us.
